Trip to the rivers of mid-south Wales and plan to be on the rivers Tywi and Usk.
Both are great fun grade two / three level water, on which can get a bit more chuckle time with a bit more water in them, so if you have been attending the progressions sessions this summer, certainly chunkier than the Nene, but if you have passed your Lea Valley Assessment, or successfully paddled the lower Tryweryn (less Bala Falls) then these rivers should be fine for you.

If we end up with insufficient water, then we might have to see what we can find running more towards Brecon, or as a last resort, we can always do a section of the Wye on the way home on Sunday.
If you are after a Three Star Whitewater Kayak Assessment – then let me know, I can get registered and run the assessment over the course of the weekend. If you are after a bit of white water river leadership / coaching experience, then again this trip is for you.
We have twenty spaces booked into the New Inn in Bwlch, which is a delightful bunkhouse on top of the village pub.
Bed (small dorms of two / four / six) and breakfast is £22 per person per night.
Saturday evening meal; main only £9 / two courses £12 / three courses £15, (same for Friday night if you get there before 21:00) and of course plenty of Butty Bach on tap along with a log fire.

Four sharing a car should drink about a tank of tractor juice, so will average around £15 - £18 / head.
The bunkhouse only holds twenty, so whilst we have currently block booked the whole building, we do need to confirm reasonably promptly, since they can then let the remaining rooms, or if there are going to be hordes of you, then I need to book some alternative accommodation fast – it’s the last week end of half term, so things fill up very quickly now!
Juniors (ie under eighteens) need to be accompanied by a parent, though we can use a Signed Parental Consent Form whilst on the water.
So if you wish to attend, you need to email me This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (and NOT Paul) now in order to reserve your place please.
Organising trips and booking accommodation is like juggling cats, so if you definitely want to come on this trip, please make the commitment and let me know promptly. If you dither, these first twenty spaces may have gone, and due to being half term and no additional alternative accommodation – you will be sorting yourself out in a tent somewhere!
Further details of car shares / maps of where to go etc will follow in due course. If you want to know more about the trip and if its suitable for you, then please email me, or catch me on a Wednesday night.
