Our intermediate courses last for 12 hours: either as six 2-hour evening sessions or longer weekend sessions; and are aimed at adults and those aged over 14. (If you are lucky enough to be under 14 years, we recommend that you develop your skills through Kids Club).
To undertake an intermediate course, you will need to have significantly developed your skills beyond those gained on our beginners courses or a Paddle Discover Award.  It is expected that you can confidently paddle and manoeuvre boats.
If the coach running the course has not paddled with you recently, you may be asked to attend a two-hour pre-assessment session before booking the course.
If you are not ready, we recommned you build your your skills and confidence by taking part in club paddling activities such as social paddles, progression sessions and, if appropriate, Teen paddling.

All course participants must be able to swim 25 meters wearing a buoyancy aid.

Please ensure that you wear lightweight thermal clothing or wetsuits and lightweight shoes (preferably slip-on). All other equipment is provided.
