Our beginners courses are aimed at those aged 14 and above.  (If you are under 14, why not join one of our Kids Start Award courses and then attend Kids Club on a Sunday Morning?).

Our beginners course will teach you the skills you need to paddle forwards and steer a boat in a number of different directions using a variety of strokes as well as how to look out for yourself and your companions when out paddling. You will learn how to get in and out of a boat, how to carry and move a boat. You will get the opportunity to try out a number of different sorts of boats including Open Canoes, Kayaks and Stand-Up Paddle boards (SUPs)

Each course lasts approximately 10 hours and we offer both weekend and evening courses throughout the spring, summer and early Autumn.

Please ensure that you wear lightweight thermal clothing or wetsuits and lightweight shoes (preferably slip-on). All other equipment is provided.

Ensure you can do all the dates of your course before you book as we can only provide refunds for medical reasons.
