Made a resolution to exercise more this year? Start right away as you mean to go on!

Friendly social paddle for all.

Juniors U14 will need to be accompanied by a competent adult.

This is the first flatwater paddle of 2019 and is a great way to get the paddling year started.

It is a lovely short trip on the Cam - from Hauxton Mill back to the clubhouse. The access is easy at both ends and we finish up at the club with hot showers and warm drinks. There will be a steady flow at the start of the paddle and paddlers will need to be able to steer their boat. You should not find this a tiring paddle - the river will do most of the work. Likely hazards may be fallen branches and debris in the water, but we will be splitting into groups with experienced paddlers at the front of each group to make sure everyone is aware of any hazards. The upper reaches of the river have reasonable flow and is quite different to the stretch outside the clubhouse - so come along on a little adventure if you have not paddled this part of the river before.

If you are interested then please email Terry (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and let him know whether you can offer people or boat transport or need help moving people and boats. Meet at the clubhouse at 9.30am so we can load up boats and sort out a shuttle. If we get changed into paddling clothes before the shuttle we can leave our dry clothes in the clubhouse to change back into after the paddle. Obviously, January 1st will quite likely be VERY cold so do bring along plenty of warm dry paddling clothes, a hat/helmet plus hot drinks and snacks to eat along the way, although this is likely to be a quick trip.
